Target size (KB)

A built-in 5% safety margin is applied (e.g. a 50KB target compresses to ≈47KB), so uploads are never rejected for being just over the limit.

Quality 5–100:

Compress PNG to 100KB while keeping transparency

Government job portals, school application systems and email attachments often impose a hard 100KB limit on images. Our tool binary-searches the optimal quality level to shrink JPG, PNG, WebP or HEIC photos to under 100KB while keeping as much detail as possible — fully processed in your browser, no upload, no sign-up, unlimited.

Common scenarios with a 100KB limit

Scenario Typical limit Required format
Government job portals (SSC, UPSC, etc.) Photo 20-100KB JPG
School & exam applications Photo 100KB JPG/PNG
Email attachments 100KB – 2MB Any
E-commerce product images 100–500KB JPG/WebP

Why choose this tool

Accurate results

Binary-searches the quality level so the output lands safely under 100KB while staying as close as possible.

Private, processed locally

Files are processed only in your browser and never uploaded, so even sensitive photos stay safe.

Batch processing + ZIP

Compress many images at once and download them all as a single ZIP.

Smart format & HEIC

Transparent images stay PNG automatically, and iPhone HEIC photos work directly — no conversion needed.

Frequently asked questions

Does PNG compression keep transparency?

Yes. Choose PNG or WebP output to keep the alpha channel intact. Transparent areas are compressed separately, and the tool only warns if a fully transparent image can't reach the 100KB target without visible artifacts.

Why is my PNG so large to begin with?

PNG is lossless, so it stores every pixel exactly — a 12MP photo as PNG can exceed 10MB. That is normal; this tool's job is to squeeze it below 100KB while keeping the parts that matter (edges, text, transparency) clean.

Will text or logos stay sharp at 100KB?

Yes. The tool detects hard edges and text-heavy content, and spends the size budget on them. Screenshots, diagrams and logos remain readable — unlike naive JPEG recompression.

Which input formats are supported?

JPG, PNG, WebP, AVIF, BMP, GIF and HEIC all work. Output can be PNG (transparency), WebP (small + transparency) or JPG (smallest, no transparency).

Is it safe for confidential graphics?

Yes. Processing is 100% local — your PNG never leaves the browser, so it is safe for logos, screenshots and internal documents.
