Image to BMP Converter

Pure Local Processing No Server Upload 7 Output Formats Canvas API

Convert HEIC, PNG, JPG, WebP, AVIF, TIFF and ICO to BMP free online. Lossless uncompressed output for raw pixel work. 100% private — batch ZIP download.

How to Use

1

Upload Images

Click the upload area or drag and drop images from your computer. Supported formats: PNG, JPEG, WebP, AVIF, BMP, TIFF, ICO.

2

Adjust Quality

Use the quality slider to control the output image quality. Higher quality means larger file size.

3

Convert

Click the convert button to start processing. All conversion happens in your browser — no files are uploaded to any server.

4

Download

Download individual images or click 'Download All' to save all converted files as a ZIP archive.

Tips & Tricks

Uncompressed Format

BMP stores image data without any compression, resulting in large files but perfectly preserving every pixel. It is one of the simplest image formats to read and write.

When to Use BMP

Choose BMP when working with legacy software, raw pixel data, or systems that require uncompressed image data. It is widely supported across all platforms.

BMP Best Practices

Use BMP for compatibility with older software or when you need pixel-perfect data for further processing. For storage or web use, convert to a compressed format like PNG.

Common Use Cases

Legacy Software

Compatible with older applications that only support BMP

Raw Image Processing

Work with uncompressed pixel data for image analysis

Embedded Systems

Use in resource-constrained systems with simple rendering

Medical Imaging

Exchange lossless image data in medical applications

Data Conversion

Intermediate format for batch image processing pipelines

Frequently Asked Questions

Are my images uploaded to a server?

No. All processing runs entirely in your browser via the Canvas API. Your images never leave your device.

Why are BMP files so large?

BMP is an uncompressed format that stores raw pixel data directly. Each pixel is stored with full color information, resulting in large file sizes. For example, a 1920×1080 BMP is about 6 MB, while the same image as JPEG might be under 1 MB.

Is there a file size limit?

Yes, each file must be under 50 MB. There is no fixed limit on how many files you can add, but very large batches take a while because everything runs in your browser tab.

When would I use BMP?

BMP is useful when you need raw, uncompressed pixel data for compatibility with legacy software, medical imaging (DICOM workflows), certain industrial systems, or as an intermediate format before applying custom compression algorithms.

Can I convert multiple images at once?

Yes. Add as many images as you need — there is no fixed batch limit — then download each file individually or grab them all as a ZIP archive.

Does BMP support transparency?

Classic BMP does not support an alpha channel — transparent pixels render as black. If you need transparency, PNG or WebP is the right format instead.
