MRPack to ZIP Converter

An .mrpack is a manifest, not a modpack. This tool downloads every mod from Modrinth, verifies each SHA-1, and gives you a plain ZIP with the whole instance folder.

Runs on your device — nothing is uploaded

GitHub and GitLab block browsers from downloading release files. Open each link, download the file, then drop them all here — each one is checked against the pack's SHA-1 before it goes in.

Drop the downloaded files here

What an .mrpack actually contains

A .mrpack is not a modpack folder. It is a small ZIP holding a manifest (modrinth.index.json) plus the files that get copied into the game folder. Every mod in that manifest is just a URL, a size and a checksum (SHA-1) — the jars themselves are not inside. Launchers that understand the format fetch them; a plain ZIP has to contain them, and that is what this page builds.

Convert a pack

Load the pack

Drop a .mrpack in the drop area, or paste a Modrinth link or project ID so the newest release is fetched for you.

Choose client or server

A client ZIP keeps client-only mods and applies client-overrides. A server ZIP drops them and applies server-overrides instead.

Select optional mods

Files marked optional in the manifest are skipped unless you select them. Everything else is downloaded and verified.

Download the ZIP

Each downloaded file is checked against the SHA-1 from the manifest, then written into the archive. You get an ordinary instance folder back.

What ends up in the ZIP

Entry Source
mods/*.jar files[] entries downloaded from their URLs
config/, resourcepacks/, … The same entries; the manifest path is already the instance path
Overrides overrides/, then client-overrides or server-overrides on top

The manifest's path is relative to the instance folder, so nothing is guessed and nothing is renamed.

When a download is blocked

Modrinth allows pack files from its own download servers, GitHub, GitLab and raw.githubusercontent.com. GitHub and GitLab do not let browsers download their release files: the request is refused before the file arrives, and no tool that runs in the browser can get around it. This page lists those files with their original links: download the file, drop it back here, and it is checked against the SHA-1 before going in. Finish without it and the ZIP contains _MRPACK_MISSING.txt naming what is missing and where to get it.

What it does not do

The result is an instance folder, not a launcher: no Minecraft, no loader, no Java. Put it in a launcher profile that already matches the pack's game version and loader. Nothing is uploaded — the pack and its mods only travel between Modrinth's servers and your browser. This tool is not affiliated with Modrinth.

Is my pack uploaded anywhere?

No. The file stays in your browser; the page only downloads from Modrinth's servers.

Why is a mod missing from the ZIP?

Its host does not let browsers download it. The tool lists it, and you can drop the file in by hand — it is still checked against the pack's SHA-1.

Does it work for Forge, NeoForge and Quilt?

Yes. The loader is only read to show it on the page; the ZIP contains exactly the files the manifest lists.

Can I turn the ZIP back into an .mrpack?

Not with this tool. A manifest needs a download URL and a checksum for every file, which a plain ZIP does not carry.

How large a pack can it handle?

Packs of several hundred megabytes work. In Chromium browsers the ZIP can be written straight to disk, which keeps memory use low; elsewhere it is built in memory, so very large packs need a desktop browser with enough memory to hold the result.
